THE MAIN EDUCATIONAL ASSUMPTIONS and GRADUATE’S PROFILE
AT A FACULTY OF LAW (master’s degree level) in ESLA
During their 5 years of studies at the European College of Law and Administration, the students receive thorough education in Polish law,
and are awarded the grade of master in law (LL.M.), the starting point for carrier in all legal professions, including - after
appropriate internships, the following: judge, prosecutor, attorney for defense, counsel, or notary. The Polish legislation is
applicable within Polish territory.
The chief assumption of the College curriculum involves preparation of the graduates for work with the European Union institutions,
and combining of theoretical knowledge with practice, starting from the first year of studies.
This is supported by the following:
- complete, university course of law (including constitutional, civil, criminal, labor law), legal procedures, criminology;
- several hundreds hours of training in international law, with emphasis on the European Union law;
- interdisciplinary courses in: philosophy, sociology, history of Poland, economy, political science;
- international political and economic relations;
- tutorial and pr-tutorial courses, in small groups conducted by a lawyers, judges, prosecutors, etc.
- IT classes covering work with text editors, data bases, legal applications and the Internet.
- 2,5 English languages course, at any advancement level and additional course in German or French.
TUTORIAL CLASSES, TRIAL PRACTICE
Already during their first year of studies, the European College of Law and Administration students have an opportunity to verify
their theoretical knowledge acquired in the course of lectures and practical classes. Under supervision of lawyers: judges, counsels,
prosecutors, or attorneys they enter the real world of the law, familiarizing the functioning principles of the Polish courts, prosecutor’s
offices, law offices, also by watching the work of the Sejm and Constitutional Tribunal.
The tutorial classes also involve participation in real court trials: criminal, civil, and business proceedings, or their simulations
in the lecture hall.
PRO-TUTORIAL CLASSES
Pro-tutorial classes are aimed at directing the 4th and 5th year students in respect of the relevant internship selection.
These courses are realized in the following categories:

The classes constitute practical training. In majority, the students work on authentic cases and try to solve them independently.
